FE Investments appoints retirement specialist

FE Investments appoints Toyosi Lewis as its new decumulation and retirement specialist

20 July 2021

Model portfolio service provider FE Investments has appointed a retirement specialist as it seeks to enhance its focus on its retirement and decumulation propositions.

Toyosi joins FE Investments as Retirement Investment Specialist and will be responsible for leading and developing its retirement proposition, which is increasingly becoming an area of importance for advisers and investment platforms.

Highly experienced in the retirement and pensions field, Toyosi has spent much of his career working closely with financial planners. He joins FE Investments from Timelineapp where he was responsible for providing technical support and training to IFAs and Wealth Managers on decumulation strategies. Prior to this he worked on a number of regulatory projects with a leading life insurance company, that addressed gaps in non-advised annuity sales from clients’ pension investments as they approached retirement.

Toyosi’s appointment marks another important step in the growth of FE Investments as it develops and enhances its expertise in wider sections of the market. Since its formation in 2015 the firm, which is the investment arm of leading fund data company FE fundinfo, has grown significantly each year and now manages assets of more than £4bn. Over the past year it has broadened its proposition, having launched a specialist sustainable investment reporting offering for retail investors and has expanded the availability of its risk-targeted model portfolios, which are now available on 14 different investment platforms.

Commenting on his appointment, Toyosi Lewis said:

“It’s great to join the team at FE Investments and I look forward to working with advisers as they evolve and adapt their retirement planning processes. Adopting decumulation strategies that address key retirement risks has never been more important, and pension freedoms and an aging population are only going to make this a bigger part of the advice process going forward. FE fundinfo’s expertise in planning and analysis as well as portfolio management put it in a great position to meet these challenges.”

Rob Gleeson, Chief Investment Officer at FE Investments, said:

“Since the launch of the Pensions Freedoms Legislation in 2015 there has been a growing need among advisers and their clients for high quality data-led retirement propositions. Over the past few years we have been enhancing our expertise in the retirement space and Toyosi’s appointment will allow us to develop our proposition even further. Toyosi joins us with a wealth of experience which will very much complement our existing skillset within the team. We welcome Toyosi and look forward to developing new retirement solutions to help advisers in this growing area.”
