Chairman

David Blumer

David joined FE fundinfo as Chairman in February 2020, where he oversees the strategic direction of the company, along with the other members of the Executive Committee.

An industry expert, he began his career at Credit Suisse after completing a degree in Economics at the University of Zurich. During his time at Credit Suisse, he undertook a variety of senior roles in their trading, sales and asset management divisions.

His last role at Credit Suisse was as CEO in their Asset Management division, where he moved to Swiss RE as their Chief Investment Officer in 2008. In addition to being the CIO, he became Chairman of Admin Re in 2010 and then subsequently moved to BlackRock in 2013. David was Head of Europe, Middle East and Africa for BlackRock, a member of the company’s Global Executive Committee and, more recently, Global Head of Blackrock Alternative Investors. He is the Chairman of BlackRock’s business in Switzerland and continues to serve in this role.

As Chairman, David is leading on the next phase of FE fundinfo’s growth, following the company’s creation in 2018, following a merger of FE, fundinfo and F2C.

Chief Financial Officer

Peter van Tiggelen

Peter joined FE fundinfo in February 2022. As CFO, he is responsible for the company’s Finance, Legal and Business Intelligence functions. With extensive international finance experience, including from the United States and Asia, Peter has held several leadership positions in innovative, high-growth businesses in both healthcare and financial technology. Most recently he was CFO of the capital markets technology company Itiviti.

Tim joined FE fundinfo as CRO in November 2020 and is responsible for FE fundinfo’s go to market strategy and organisation, spanning sales & account management, marketing and further developing the growing partner ecosystem.

He believes deeply in customer centricity and partnership, developing long-term relationships centred on trust and collaboration and co-innovation.

Tim has deep knowledge of the financial technology sector, both as a user and technology provider. He joined FE fundinfo from Finastra, where he spent almost 20 years in a series of global customer-centric senior leadership roles, including sales, consulting services, customer success and partner management and was part of the extended Executive Leadership team. Tim began his career at KPMG in consulting before joining Deutsche Bank as an equity analyst focused on the European technology sector.

Tim is passionate about sport and its ability to improve physical and mental health, connect people from diverse backgrounds and help children’s personal development. Tim is a junior hockey coach and player at Spencer Hockey Club.

Chief Technology Officer

Paul Ronan

Paul has more than 25 years’ experience as a technologist in the financial markets arena, working in world-class organisations across capital markets, brokerage, private banking and energy trading. He has also held senior roles in banks as well as software & FinTech consulting organisations.

Paul joined FE fundinfo in 2019 and leads our technology strategy globally.

Chief People Officer

Kate Scarles

Kate joined FE fundinfo in January 2019 to take on a newly created role as Chief People Officer. She is responsible for all aspects of the talent strategy for FE fundinfo across 14 international locations and is a member of the Executive Committee.

Previously, Kate had a 20-year career with Standard & Poor’s (S&P) where she held the position of Senior HR Director. She was responsible for S&P Ratings in the EMEA region and Global HR business partner for Commercial Ratings and also completed short term assignments in both the Melbourne and New York offices.

Earlier in her career, Kate worked in HR Business Partner roles with Barclays Capital and Credit Suisse First Boston where she was responsible for various front office client groups.

Chief Marketing Officer

Jens Olivarius

Jens joined FE fundinfo as Chief Marketing Officer in March 2023 and is responsible for overseeing FE fundinfo’s marketing and our editorial teams.

Jens is an experienced executive with a distinguished professional background in marketing for global technology companies. Most recently, he served as the CMO for Stibo Systems, a global company that provides Master Data Management solutions for leading brands and retailers. As part of the executive team, he was responsible for the company's strategy, industry practices, marketing, inside sales, internal and external communications.

Prior to this, Jens was the CMO of SimCorp, a global company that provides IT solutions for investment managers. Before joining SimCorp, Jens spent 18 years with SAS Institute in different senior sales, business development and marketing roles.

Chief Investments Officer

Rob Gleeson

Rob joined the executive team of FE fundinfo in November 2020, where he oversees the FE Investments discretionary business – the investments arm of FE fundinfo –  which he helped to found, initially as a consultancy in 2012. Since then, he has helped to grow the business into one of the fastest growing DFMs on platform, managing more than £3bn of investor assets.

Rob graduated from Swansea University with a degree in Economics and has spent the majority of his career at FE Fundinfo in a variety of roles. Starting off as a data analyst and Data Product Manager, he subsequently became Head of Research and then went on to form FE Investments. He became a CFA charter holder in 2009.

In his current role, Rob ensures FE Investments continues to provide investment solutions for IFAs that allow them to maximise value for their clients and is responsible for maximising the commercial success of FE Investments.

Chief Operating Officer

Juan Lopez-Valcarcel

Juan joined FE fundinfo as Chief Operating Officer on an interim basis in February 2023 and is responsible for reviewing and optimising our activities across our Delivery, Data, Client Success and Support teams.

Juan brings 20+ years’ experience in transforming and scaling data and software businesses. Most recently, he led the Operations transformation of data analytics and market research firm, Kantar. Prior to that, he was Chief Digital Officer for education software company, Pearson International and General Manager of online platforms for the US media company, NBC Universal.

His priority over the next six months will be to create a transformation programme that delivers a more streamlined and integrated client experience, which will be a key foundation for our next stage of growth. 

Director of Strategic Programmes

Laura Boeck

Laura Boeck joined FE fundinfo as Director of Strategic Programmes in 2020, where she works with stakeholders across the organisation to oversee the direction of FE fundinfo’s ambitious growth plans and to ensure appropriate governance to deliver key strategic initiatives.
Laura also identifies value creation opportunities and executes the integration of FE fundinfo’s M&A activities.  

Before joining FE fundinfo, Laura worked as an independent consultant to Private Equity-backed firms. Prior to that, Laura held roles at Private Equity and Growth Capital funds and in investment banking in Frankfurt and London.   

Laura holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Head of Business Development and Strategy

Philipp Portmann

Philipp completed a banking apprenticeship in Zurich and studied at The University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration.

After working three years for a Swiss private bank, Philipp co-founded ifund services AG in Zurich, which then became fundinfo in 2005. As Co-founder and CEO, Philipp helped lead the company from a start-up into a global leader in fund information.

Following fundinfo’s merger with FE and F2C, Philipp became Head of Business Development and Strategy and is responsible for the company’s expansion strategy and strategic partnerships across the world.

Director of Corporate Development

Travis Weldon

Travis joined FE fundinfo in March 2021 following approximately 18 months spent as an independent advisor and consultant in the financial data landscape. Prior to that, he spent just over seven years in Corporate Development, Strategy and M&A with Markit and then IHS Markit, ultimately managing the function firm-wide.

His prior career includes one year spent in investment banking in London; three years spent as a finance manager and then Finance Director of a U.S. and U.K.-based project management, consulting and technology company; and just over two years of service as a small business development adviser with the U.S. Peace Corps in Guinea, West Africa.

Travis holds a B.A. in International Relations from William & Mary, in Virginia, USA and an M.B.A. with Distinction, concentrated in Finance, from London Business School.

General Counsel

Lisa Maxwell

Lisa joined FE fundinfo as General Counsel in September 2021 and is responsible for all legal, compliance and regulatory affairs across the company.

Prior to joining FE fundinfo Lisa was Head of Legal (APAC and EMEA) for Informa plc, an information services and events company within the FTSE 100, where she was extensively involved in M&A, strategy, and operations for key divisions. She also supported business growth and development in several international markets with a focus on APAC.

Lisa began her career at Slaughter & May where she trained and qualified, specialising in corporate law. Lisa holds an M.A. in Modern History from Lincoln College, Oxford University.

Director of Operations

Martin Pedwell

A graduate of Royal Holloway, Martin started his career with FE fundinfo as a Data Analyst. He then moved to India in 2005 where he held the position of Head of Indian Operations in Chennai, where he was responsible for managing the data and operations divisions.

Martin became a Director in 2007 and subsequently Managing Director India in 2015, he has overseen the expansion of operations in India and other locations across the globe.

As Managing Director India and Chief Change Officer, Martin sits on the Executive Committee and since the organisation’s merger has led on operations and customer solution projects.
